A place to record my thoughts on leadership, learning and school life.

After the last few years of school closures due to COViD I was looking forward to my first full and normal year as a Principal.
It sadly wasn't to be though! The Auckland floods at the end of January and then Cyclone Gabriele saw the first day of school delayed by 2 days and then school closed again the following week. We delayed the Year 7 and 8 camp and hunkered down.
It wasn't until the fourth week that we had been at school for a full week! It was exhausting, the weather was still very unpredictable and attendance was a bit lower than expected. That said though, it was an exciting week to get under our belt!
The year 5 and 6 team got out to camp and we crossed our fingers that the weather would hold for the year 7 and 8s as another tropical cyclone formed in the pacific!
